Site blocked by AdGuard DNS?
AdGuard DNS, AdGuard’s cloud DNS service, filters ads, trackers and threats for every app on your device. This guide is for the cloud service; if you run your own server, see the AdGuard Home guide.
Updated November 2026. Menus move around between versions: if a label is a little different, look for the closest match.
Signs it’s AdGuard DNS
- “Site can’t be found” errors, or parts of a page missing in every browser on the device.
- It works on another network or with AdGuard DNS switched off on the device.
Find what blocked it
- Sign in to your AdGuard DNS dashboard and open the Query log.
- Reload the broken page, then filter to blocked queries and search for the site.
- The entry shows the rule that matched and the blocklist it came from.
Allow it
- One domain: in your DNS server’s settings, open User rules and add
@@||example.com^(this allows the domain and its subdomains). - A blocklist that breaks too much: turn it off in the server’s blocklist settings.
- Blocked services, parental control and security settings can also block whole sites. Check them if no blocklist rule matched.
- Restart the browser if the page still fails a minute later. DNS answers are cached briefly.
Good to know
- The AdGuard browser extension and app are separate products with their own rules. If you use those too, see the guide for other blocker extensions.
